Addis Ababa, Aug 17 ( Prensa Latina ) The Ethiopian Ambassador to Uganda, Alemtsehay Meseret, praised the Ethiopian government for defending the sustainable exploitation and equitable use of water from the Nile River, reveals an official statement released Saturday.
Uganda, which hosts the Nile Basin Initiative, continues to play a key role in fostering the implementation of the Cooperative Framework Agreement, the diplomat said, according to the communication from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

he added that the Ethiopian government appreciates Uganda’s willingness to strengthen diplomatic relations and increase and diversify economic ties, which can benefit a combined population of approximately 150 million people.

Meanwhile, Ugandan Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Henry Okello Oryema said both countries should take advantage of reciprocal investment promotion and protection to sustain and enhance the bilateral trade development achieved over the past year.
