COVID-19: Ethiopia Records 1, 136 More Cases, 16 Deaths

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded 1, 136 new COVID-19 infections on Tuesday as the number of confirmed cases in the country exceeds 60, 000 mark.

The Ministry of Health’s daily report indicates the East African nation has tested 14, 815 individuals for the virus to identify the new positive cases in the past twenty-four hours.

Health officials have also added 16 more coronavirus-related deaths during the reported period, taking the death toll to 949.

The daily report has put the number of active COVID-19 cases in the nation at 37, 156. Of these, 307 patients are in serious conditions, the report indicates.

Health officials also claim a record daily recoveries on Tuesday. At least 888 patients have recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 22, 677.

Ethiopia confirmed its first case of COVID-19 in mid March, and has so far tested 1, 078, 269 people, and confirmed 60, 784 cases.
