ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has registered 628 new infections of coronavirus and 13 related deaths on Wednesday, its ministry of health said, after testing at least 6, 333 tests over the past twenty-four hours.
The latest figures have brought the total number of cases to 91, 118, and deaths to 1, 384. The daily Covid-19 report also noted that there are now 45, 226 active cases in Ethiopia.
Of these patients, health officials said more than 3000 are severely ill and are currently seeking medical attention in Covid-19 health centers.
On the same day, at least 868 patients of the respiratory disease recuperated, the daily report said. The latest figure has taken the number of recoveries in the nation so far to more than 44, 500.
To date, the East African country has conducted more than 1.4 million laboratory tests.
