ADDIS ABEBA – Ethiopia has registered 355 more COVID-19 infections on Friday, bringing confirmed cases tally to nearly 99, 000.
The country conducted close to 5, 000 tests to identify the new positive cases over the past twenty-four hours, the Ministry of Health said in its daily Covid-19 report.
The report also noted that a further 4 patients have passed away due to the disease caused by coronavirus, pushing the death toll in the country to 1, 512.
Currently, there are 39, 129 active cases. Of these, 332 patients are severely ill, the Ministry said, and they are hospitalized to get treatment.
The Ministry also said at least 989 patients of Covid-19 have regained their health, taking the total number of recoveries in the country so far 58, 183.
Ethiopia confirmed its first coronavirus case on March 13. Since then, it has registered 98, 746 infections of the virus after conducting over 1.51 million laboratory tests.
