አዲስ አበባ፣ ህዳር 7፣ 2013 (ኤፍ.ቢ.ሲ) ምክትል ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትርና የውጭ ጉዳይ ሚኒስትር አቶ ደመቀ መኮንን ከኬንያ ፕሬዝደንት ኡሁሩ ኬንያታ ጋር ተወያዩ።

በምክትል ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትርና የውጭ ጉዳይ ሚኒስትር አቶ ደመቀ መኮንን የተመራ የኢትዮጵያ ልዑክ የቀጠናው ሀገራት መንግስት የጀመረውን ህግና ህገ መንግስት የማጽናት ጥረት እንዲደግፉ የጠቅላይ ሚንስትሩን መልዕክት ለፕሬዚዳንቱ አድርሰዋል።

በዚህ ወቅት አቶ ደመቀ መኮንን በኢትዮጵያ ለሁለት ዓመታት ተኩል ሲካሄድ ስለቆየው ፖለቲካዊ፤ ኢኮኖሚያዊና ማህበራዊ ለውጥ እንቅስቃሴ፤ ይህ ለውጥ ለመላው የኢትዮጵያ ህዝብ ስላስገኛቸው ትሩፋቶች በዝርዝር አብራርተዋል።

አቶ ደመቀ የህውኃት አጥፊ ኃይሎች መንግስት የጀመረውን የለውጥ ሂደት ለማጨናገፍ የተለያዩ ጥረቶችን ሲያደርጉ እንደነበረ ጠቅሰው መንግስት በሆደ ሰፊነት በተለያዩ መንገዶች ለማግባባት እና በትዕግስት ለመያዝ መሞከሩን አስረድተዋል።

ይሁንና እነዚህ የህውኃት ጽንፈኛ ቡድን የመንግስትን ትዕግስት ከምንም ባለመቁጠር አገሪቱን ወደ ትርምስና ብጥብጥ እንድታመራ በተለያዩ አካባቢዎች ጽንፈኛ ቡድኖችን በገንዘብና በሎጂስትክ ሲደግፍና ሲያደራጅ መቆየቱን፤ በዚህም ሂደት የበርካታ ዜጎች ህይወት ማለፉንና ንብረት መውደሙን ገልጸዋል።

ይህ አልበቃ ብሎ ሰሞኑን በሰሜን የአገራችን ክፍል የሰፈረውን ሰሜን ዕዝ ከኋላ መውጋታቸውንና ብዙዎችን መግደላቸው፤ ይህ ደግሞ በሃገር አንድነትና ሉዓላዊነት ላይ የተቃጣ በመሆኑ እነዚህን አጥፊዎች ወደ ህግ ለማምጣት እንቅስቃሴ መጀመሩን፤ እንቅስቃሴው የኢትዮጵያን ህዝብ ከነዚህ አጥፊዎች ለመታደግ እንደሆነና ይህም የውስጥ ጉዳይ መሆኑን በስፋት ገልጸዋል።

ፕሬዝደንት ኡሁሩም ሲናገሩ ኢትዮጵያና ኬንያ የሰላም መልህቅ መሆናቸውንና ለአካባቢው ሰላምና መረጋጋት ጉልህ አስተዋጽኦ እንደሚያበረክቱ አረጋግጠው በተፈጠረው ነገር ማዘናቸውን እና የተጀመረው የህግና ስርዓት የማስከበር ተግባር በተቻለ ፍጥነት እንዲጠናቀቅ ገልጸዋል።

አቶ ደመቀ ከፕሬዚዳንት ኡሁሩ ጋር ከመወያየታቸው ቀደም ብሎ ከኡጋንዳው ፕሬዚዳንት ዩዌሪ ሙሴቪኒ ጋርም ተወያይተዋል፡፡

President Uhuru Kenyatta has urged parties to the ongoing internal conflict in Ethiopia to find peaceful means to end the crisis.

The President cautioned against a full blown conflict in the country saying Kenya and Ethiopia have for long served as anchor states for regional peace and stability.

He urged the Federal Government and the Tigrayan People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) to de-escalate the conflict saying the crisis risks eroding gains made by Ethiopians in developing their country.AdChoicesADVERTISING

The President spoke Monday evening at State House, Nairobi during a meeting with Ethiopia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Demeke Mekonnen who paid him a courtesy visit.

The Deputy Prime Minister also delivered a special message to President Kenyatta from Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and briefed the Head of State on the political and security situation in Ethiopia.

While acknowledging the internal efforts being made to end the conflict, President Kenyatta urged the warring parties to prioritise humanitarian needs of local populations by opening up corridors for essential supplies.

The President was accompanied to the meeting by Foreign Affairs CS Raychelle Omamo, her CAS Ababu Namwamba and Head of Public Service Dr Joseph Kinyua.

The Ethiopian delegation included Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Woineshet Tadesse and the country’s Ambassador to Kenya Meles Alem.
