“በዘር ግንዱ ሮማኒያዊ በዜግነቱ አሜሪካዊ የሆነው የፖለቲካ ሳይንቲስቱ ቭላድሚር ኢስማኖው ስለእኛ ሀገሩ የትግራይ ነፃ አውጪ ግንባር (ትህነግ) የእውቀት መሰረቶች፣ የጋለ የፖለቲካ አፍቅሮት፣ ስርነቀልነት/አክራሪነት፣ ተምኔታዊ እሳቤዎች እንዲሁም የግንባሩን የድነት (salvation)ና የአብዮት ራዕዮች የማወቅ እድል ቢገጥመው ኖሮ “ዲያቢሎስ በታሪክ ውስጥ” (The Devil in History)” በሚለው መፅሀፉ ውስጥ በ20ኛው ክፍለ ዘመን በተከሰቱትና ተቃራኒ በሚመስሉት በኮሚኒዝምና በፋሺዝም ርእዮተ ዓለሞች መካከል ስላለው ተመሳስሎ ለአንባቢዎቹ በቀጥታ ለማሳየት የተሻለ መንገድ ማግኘት ይችል ነበር።
ቭላድሚር ኢስማኖው ሌኒንንና ስታሊንን በኮሚኒስትነት በአንድ ወገን፥ ስለዘር ጥራት የሚጨነቀውን ሂትለርን እንዲሁም ስለብሄራዊ ኩራትና ሞገስ የሚገደውን ሙሶሎኒን በፋሺስትነት በሌላ ወገን አድርጎ በማጥናት የማህበረሰብ ዳግም ምህንስድናን (social re-engineering) የሁለቱ ቡድኖች የጋራ ቀኖናዊ ራእይ እንደሆነ ለዓለም ለማሳየት አብዝቶ ከመድከም ይልቅ የትህነግ መሪ ስለነበረው መለስ ዜናዊ ቢያጠና ኖሮ ከላይ የተጠቀሱትን አራቱንም ዓይነት ጨቋኞች በአንድ ሰው ላይ ማግኘት ይችል ነበር። ምክንያቱም መለስ ዜናዊ በእውነቱ ኮሚኒስትም ፋሺስትም የነበረ ሰው ነው።
“ምንም ያህል ትኩረትን የሚስብና የሚመስጥ ቢሆን እንኳ የትኛውም ዓይነት የርዕዮተ ዓለም ቁርጠኝነት፣ ከሰው ልጅ ሕይወት ክቡርነት በላይ በጭራሽ ሊገዝፍ አይገባም።” የሚለው የቭላድሚር ኢስማኖው ድምዳሜ ከመጽሐፉ ሊወሰድ የሚገባ ቁምነገር ነው፡፡
ዛሬ በፋሺስቱ ትህነግ ላይ ድል በተገኘ ማግስት ላይ ሆነን ግን “እድገት ለማምጣት ከመሻት ቀና ፍላጎትም ጫፍ የረገጠ ክፋት ሊከሰት ይችላል።” የሚለው የፕሮፌሰር ጆን ግሬይ አባባል አንቂ ማሳሰቢያ ሊሆነን ይገባል። ለ30 ዓመታት ከትህነግ መርዝ ጋር እንደመኖራችን መጠን ውስጣችን ባቆጠቆጠውና ተሸሽጎ ባለው ትንንሽ ትህነጋዊነት ምክንያት ቀጣዩ ትህነግ እንዳንሆን ሁላችንም ጥንቃቄ ማድረግ አለብን።” – የሶማሊ ክልል ፕ/ፕሬዚዳንት ሙስጠፋ ኡመር ፌቡ ላይ ከለጠፈው አጭር መልእክት የተተረጎመ

“In “The Devil in History”, Romanian-American political scientist Vladimir Ismaneau, could have found a much more direct way of showing the striking similarity between the two seemingly contradictory totalitarian ideologies of the 20th century (communism and fascism), had he had the luck of stumbling on TPLF’s intellectual origins, political passions, radicalism, utopian ideals, and visions of salvation and revolution.
Rather than labouring to examine Lenin and Stalin as communists; and Hitler (racial purity) and Mussolini (national splendor) as fascists, and then identifying their shared dogmatic vision of social re-engineering, Ismaneau could have found all four tyrants in one had he studied Meles Zenawi of TPLF, for the man was actually a communist and a fascist.
Ismanuel’s conclusion that “no ideological commitment, no matter how absorbing, should ever prevail over the sanctity of human life” is the takeaway from his book.
But on the wake of victory over the fascist TPLF, another poignant reminder is Professor John Gray’s refrain: “radical evil can come from the pursuit of progress”.
