But why did Lencho opted for contradicting himself in his Afan Oromo and English version of his interview with the same media outlet?
The two interviews were conducted in about 3 weeks time difference. Was he scared to say his mind during the period of war or he made his minds after the end of the war and since his first interview and now come to the idea of rescuing TPLF?
– In his Afan Oromo interview he clearly said that the government is entitled and should take measures against those who are violating the rule of law.
– In his English version interview, among others, he also implied that he doesn’t clearily know about who should be culpable of the war and its cause. He said that any violence is regrettable and was unnecessary. How does he try to reconcile these two positions he has within a very short time period ?
He and co lacked any coherent political stand and clearly stated political program for decades and as such spent decades claiming various things for one and the same issue and finally he ended up being a member of a political party which he himself said is in a limbo (it exists but not functional, yet doesn’t even have a chairperson ) but the media is also not tired to invite such a lumpen to an interview and address him as most senior politician or similar titles to confuse the public. What a lose!
Here the Afan Oromo version from just before few weeks:
