Opposition official says incident claimed lives of three people including an Ethiopian woman trader.

JUBA – A small force of South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF) has clashed with armed civilians near the Ethiopian border, according to a senior opposition officials

General Dickson Gatluak Joak, a senior member of the South Sudan United Front/Army led by the country’s former army chief General Paul Malong Awan Anei said the incident which took place on Thursday in Guelguk of Waiwut county led to the killing of three people including a woman.

“Guelguk incident lost 3 lives including a woman who was  trading Between Maiwut and Longechuk. The woman was from  Ethiopia. The incident happend on Thursday this week when  a military  pickup  belong to SSPDF was attacked by Chie-Reang, and particularly chien- tot one of the Subsections from Eastern Nuer in Longechuk county,” General Gatluak said.

“It happened between Mayan Ciechol on their way to mango, in Guelguk area.  Reports we are getting have suggested that Chientot carried out the attack purposely to revenge their people who were killed last month in Paloch by Dinka Padaang,” he saddens.

He further said that a “young man who was identified as Keak Jock Dengkur  from Maiwut was killed driving military vehicle together with one soldier from SSPDF from Pagak  and one Ethiopian woman who was in the the car.”
