According to Russian agency TASS, Putin paid tribute at the beginning of the meeting to Russia-Ethiopia’s deep-rooted and striking relations. The meeting of Putin and Ahmed inaugurates a series of meetings of the Russian President with leaders of African countries who continue to arrive in Petersburg for the “Russia-Africa” summit, where separate meetings are expected to be held with each of the African guests separately.
