የአውሮፓ ኅብረት አማራ ክልል እየተካሄደ ያለው ግጭት እንዳሳሰበው ገለጸ

Ethiopia: Statement by High Representative Josep Borrell on the situation in Amhara

በኢትዮጵያ በተለይም በአማራ ክልል እየተካሄደ ያለውን ግጭት ተከትሎ፤ የሰብአዊ መብት ጥሰት መፈጸሙን እንዲሁም በደርዘን የሚቆጠሩ ሰላማዊ ዜጎች መጉዳታቸውን አስመልክቶ የሚደርሱት ሪፖርቶች በእጅጉን እንዳሳሰቡት የአውሮፓ ኅብረት አስታውቋል፡፡

በኅብረቱ የውጭ ጉዳይ ፖሊሲ ሓላፊ የሆኑት ጆሴፕ ቦረል በዛሬ ዕለት ባወጡት መግለጫ፤ በአማራ ክልል በተለይም የአስቸኳይ ጊዜ አዋጁ ከታወጀበት ጊዜ አንስቶ ከፍተኛ የዜጎች እስራት እየተፈጸመ መሆኑን አንስተዋል።

The EU expresses serious concern regarding the on-going conflict, alleged violations and abuses of human rights, and reports of dozens of civilian casualties in the Amhara region of Ethiopia. Large-scale detentions, notably since the proclamation of a State of Emergency are being reported. The EU joins the African Union, the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission and the Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission in calling for the protection of civilians, for a cessation of hostilities and for a dialogue between the parties. The EU is ready to support any process leading to dialogue, reconciliation and peace through a political settlement. We urge all Ethiopians to take the path of dialogue, in particular in the framework of the on-going National Dialogue process, which offers a tangible and long-term framework to work out a peaceful future for the country.

ኅብረቱ የአፍሪካ ኅብረት፣ የኢትዮጵያ ሰብአዊ መብት ኮሚሽን እንዲሁም የኢትዮጵያ ብሄራዊ ምክክር ኮሚሽን ሲቪል ዜጎችን እንዲጠበቁ፣ ጦርነቱ እንዲቆም እና በግጭቱ አካላት መካከል ውይይት እንዲደረግ እንዲያበረቱ ጥሪ ማቅረቡን ጆሴፕ ቦረል ገልጸዋል።

የአውሮፓ ኅብረት በፖለቲካዊ እልባት ወደ ውይይት፣ እርቅ እና ሰላም የሚያመራውን ማንኛውንም ሂደት ለመደገፍ ዝግጁ መሆኑንም ነው ያመላከቱት።

“በተለይም በመካሄድ ላይ ያለው አገራዊ የምክክር ሂደት፤ ለአገሪቱ የወደፊት ሰላም ተጨባጭ እና ዘላቂ መፍትሄ የሚያመጣ በመሆኑ ኹሉም ኢትዮጵያዊ የውይይት መንገዱን ሊከተል ይገባል።” ሲሉ ሃላፊው አሳስበዋል፡፡

ኅብረቱ ባለፈው ዓመት ሰኔ ወር መጨረሻ ላይ የኢትዮጵያ ብሔራዊ ምክክር ኮሚሽን እያከናወነው የሚገኘው ብሔራዊ ምክክር በውጤት እንዲጠናቀቅ የሰባት ሚሊየን ዶላር ድጋፍ ማድረጉን አዲስ ማለዳ መዘገቧ ይታወሳል፡፡
