Kenya's Obiri and Ethiopian Tola wins Women's and Men's Elite New York City Marathon

Hellen Obiri from Kenya and Ethiopia’s Tamirat Tola, crossed the finish line shortly after 11 a.m. The Kenyan won the elite women’s race after she successfully outsprinted Letsenbet Gidey of Ethiopia in an unofficial time of 2:27:23. 

In the Men’s Elite category, Tola finished in an unofficial time of 2:04:59.
