#UPDATE: AAA welcomes the @USTradeRep ‘s recent statement
announcing its decision not to change Ethiopia’s eligibility status for
readmission to the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).

This past June, AAA delivered an oral intervention at the Virtual Public
Hearing for the Annual Review of Country Eligibility for Benefits Under
AGOA for the 2025 calendar year.
At this hearing and in a written submission, AAA urged @AmbassadorTai
and the AGOA TPSC Subcommittee not to reinstate Ethiopia into AGOA
on account of ongoing gross violations of internationally recognized
human rights, and other violations in relation to rule of law, political
pluralism and the right to due process.
