Africa’s leading airline, Ethiopian Airlines, says it will increase its Lagos service to twice daily from July 1.

The airline’s area manager in Nigeria, Firiehiwot Mekonnen, confirmed this in a statement on Tuesday.

She stated that the extra flights would provide faster connections to several African and Asian destinations.

She said the added frequencies would reduce total flight time, offering passengers quicker and more convenient travel.

According to Ms Mekonnen, four evening flights will depart at 10:00 p.m. and another three at 5:40 a.m.

She confirmed that the existing daily midday flight remains unchanged, while the new flights operate at different times.

“We are delighted to offer more flight options from Lagos. These additional services will enhance customer experience and reduce travel costs for our passengers,” she said.

Ms Mekonnen explained that the 10:00 p.m. departure (ET 902) arrives in Addis Ababa at 5:20 a.m., connecting to DXB, GRU, TLV and other destinations.

She also noted that the 5:40 a.m. flight (ET 904) arrives in Addis at 1:00 p.m., connecting to cities including Dubai, São Paulo, Tel Aviv and Mumbai.
