Ethiopian Airlines will resume direct passenger flights between Addis Ababa and Atlanta starting May 21, 2026, restoring a key transatlantic link after a temporary suspension since February.

The route will reconnect Addis Ababa Bole International Airport with Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, offering improved access for both business and leisure travellers, as well as stronger connectivity to Ethiopian Airlines’ extensive African network.

CEO Mesfin Tasew highlighted Atlanta’s importance as a major economic hub and a key market with a large African diaspora, noting growing demand for travel between the US and Africa.

The reinstated service strengthens Ethiopian Airlines’ broader transatlantic expansion strategy and reinforces its role as a critical connector between Africa and North America, with onward links across both continents.
