The world is biased. The so-called elite citizens who dominate the economy, diplomacy, military, and technology on the planet are often corrupt, twisted, and hypocritical. Abiy Ahmed Ali, supported by the United Arab Emirates, has been responsible for the deaths of millions over the past five years. In contrast, over the same period, millions have not died in the ongoing conflicts between Russia and Ukraine, or in tensions involving Israel, United States, and Iran. Meanwhile, the news coverage of the death and destruction of Gaza Strip appears to receive significantly more attention than what you describe as crimes against humanity linked to Abiy Ahmed Ali, supported by the UAE. These perceived double standards raise serious concerns. Many in the international community, including diplomats in Addis Ababa, are aware of what is happening in the Amhara Region. This includes representatives such as the Ambassador of the United States, who, you argue, are aware that crimes against humanity are being committed even now.
More than 80% of Abiy Ahmed Ali’s military hardware is in North.
Abiy Ahmed Ali has mobilized his army to the north, particularly around the Amhara Region and Tigray Region. He has presented a justification for this move: a potential war with Eritrea to regain Assab. He is attempting to convince the public that the recruitment of soldiers, the purchase of military equipment, and the mobilization of forces to the north are all part of this so-called “national priority” agenda. Significant resources have reportedly been spent on media and social media campaigns to promote this narrative and make it widely accepted. However, behind all this noise, there appears to be a different underlying motive. The real concern driving these actions is fear that people from the northern regions, whether from Tigray or Amhara, could challenge his hold on power. This is the primary reason for concentrating on military forces in the north.
Because the army is positioned near the Amhara Region and Tigray Region, it can be rapidly deployed to various locations. At any time, Abiy Ahmed Ali sends units along different routes, and fighting is reported daily. Over the past three years, he has overseen actions that have led to the indiscriminate killing of civilians in the Amhara region. Hundreds of soldiers are said to die every day, with losses so severe that more than a third of the army could be gone within a year, Imagine that! But many Western officials based in Addis Ababa appear to interpret the situation differently. They often avoid calling it a war, instead accepting the government’s description of it as a conflict with small groups of rebels. Despite access to intelligence and data, they are seen as unwilling to recognize it as a full-scale war between people in Amhara and the Oromo-led Prosperity Party under Abiy Ahmed Ali. Although these actors understand the country’s historical foundations, they continue business as usual instead of calling for an end to the violence and destruction, engaging with a government you believe is influenced by external forces.
UAE has been destroying several nations
These Western nation ambassadors and NGO workers know that the UAE has destroyed Yemen, destabilized Sudan by deliberately equipping the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and has been actively creating divisions in Libya. Now, the UAE is helping Abiy Ahmed Ali, who is acting like a terrorist rebel while residing in 4 Kilo, the seat of the Ethiopian government. The pattern we see from UAE activities in different nations is supporting forces that destroy countries and those who fight against legitimate governments. In Ethiopia, the UAE has managed to sponsor a force that acts like a legitimate government but does exactly what other destructive forces have done in their respective countries that is, to destroy the nation.
Abiy and his group are committed to harming the country by creating wars, non-stop conflicts, and divisions across the nation. This fits the pattern of UAE’s mission in the Middle East and across the African countries where it is involved. These Western nations see this in broad daylight; it is not hidden from them. Abiy does not even try to hide it. In the middle of tensions involving Israel, United States, and Iran, he has become the only leader of a country with over 130 million people to go and bow down to a man who leads only about one million of his own people, as the majority in that country are expatriates.
Mobility is restricted in the country
The international community in Ethiopia knows that they are only safe in Addis Ababa right now. They cannot go outside the city without extra precautions and special protection. If they do, they know that they could be kidnapped and held for ransom, even by forces operating within government structures. Let alone areas where active war is taking place in Oromia Region, Amhara Region, and elsewhere, even within a few kilometers of Addis Ababa, it is impossible to navigate since Abiy Ahmed Ali came to power, especially over the past five years.
The sole person responsible for dragging the country into this chaos and disorder is the incompetent “grade seven” individual who managed to fake a PhD at a prestigious university. Furthermore, he managed to seize power from everybody, including his colleagues such as Lemma Megersa and Gedu Andargachew, and even before that from the Tigray People’s Liberation Front.
The safety of Ethiopians has dwindled immensely over the past few years. No one is safe to travel as it used to be under the TPLF-led government. At that time, people used to travel from the very south to the north and east to west without any concern in most places. But, thanks to the inability of the person who took over central power in the country, no one is safe anymore, anywhere. The embassies in Addis Ababa know this very well, but they continue to do business as usual with such an incompetent leader.
A new war round to hold fake election
The incompetent leader knows that he has to hold an election if he is going to be a legitimate leader. He is not going to hold a real election, but he wants cameras and videos to show that he was able to conduct one. Now, the problem is that, except in Addis Ababa, he cannot have a meaningful election in places where more than 80 million people live across Oromia Region, Amhara Region, and Tigray Region. So, he is using the military to carry out the election, as he has been using military command in many parts of the country, especially in Amhara and some areas of Oromia. In Tigray, the government has no control at all. The international actors, especially those who installed him, are now facing a huge problem. This incompetent person whom they installed in the country has now come to his last breath. That is why they are helping him until he goes down. This fake man is now even claiming that he has conducted an election virtually. Imagine, in a country where people have no electricity and limited access to virtual systems, holding an election via email and other means of technology. But for a cheater who obtained a PhD through cheating, this is just another shortcut to do so. Even jawar Mohammed has said that Abiy has completed the election using AI. It is just the outlook of the election the cheater is looking for.
The International community including AU, EU, UK, and USA
Given that Abiy Ahmed Ali has sent most of his military forces to the north, to the vicinity of the Tigray Region and Amhara Region; that the United Arab Emirates is investing in the destruction of the country; that mobility and security are very limited across the country; and that he is also trying to stage fake elections using military force and AI technology, why are all these people dwelling in Addis Ababa keeping quiet? For how long do you ignore the continuous five-year war killing millions? For how long will they allow such an incompetent leader to destroy a nation that could be a source of stability across the Horn? He is trying to incite conflict between people in the Oromia Region and other ethnic groups as a last resort to save himself. For how long should such crap remain in power? Somebody should say to him, enough is enough. Ethiopians, together, should come together and stop this small man from leading a great nation.
