Toronto – The Ethiopian Airlines continues to collect prestigious awards for aviation service excellence in Africa. This week, it announced that it has received the “2026 APEX Best Airline in Africa Award”

This particular award from APEX is based on customer feedback  which is independently verified and relates to passengers’ experience while using Ethiopian Airlines.

The Airlines Passenger Experience Association (APEX) is working towards the mission to “sustainably enhance passenger experience through meaningful engagement, innovation, recognition and collaboration across our global aviation industry.”

Dr. Joe Leader, CEO of APEX Group, remarked  “Ethiopian Airlines earning the 2026 APEX Best Airline in Africa award reflects the voice of verified passengers at scale.”

The latest award, Ethiopian Airlines Airlines said in a statement released this week, ” highlights Ethiopian Airlines’ steady focus on delivering a smooth, comfortable, and dependable travel experience, from the moment passengers book their flights to the time they reach their destinations.”

With 160 domestic and international passenger, and cargo destinations across five continents, Ethiopian is the largest airline in Africa.

It is working on ‘Vision 2035’ strategic plan to emerge as one of the top 20 aviation groups in the world. It has already embarked on the construction of a $12.5 billion mega Airport  – Bishoftu International Air Port which is about 44 kilometers from the capital Addis Ababa.  When fully completed, it will have a capacity to serve over 120 million passengers per year.

It has also been investing on new modern aircrafts, digital innovation and quality service delivery as part of the work to achieve its vision 2035. Last month, it ordered six more 787 Dreamliner jets as part of its effort to expand its cargo service

Remarking on the essence of the new Award received this week, Mesfin Tassew, the CEO, said “Receiving this recognition from our passengers makes it truly special. It reflects the dedication and teamwork of our staff across the entire network. Being named Best Airline in Africa motivates us to keep raising our standards and delivering an experience our customers can trust and enjoy,”  as quoted in the statement from the Airline.
