Toronto – A delegation from the Dubai Chamber this week held a meeting of Ethiopian Investment Holdings (EIH) officials in the capital Addis Ababa.
Mohammed Lootah, President of Dubai Chamber, led the delegation. He held talks with Meleket Sahlu, Deputy CEO of EIH.
Exploring potential areas of cooperation between EIH and Dubai based businesses was the agenda item during the meeting.
What exactly was the nature of cooperation? EIH stated that the focus was on “strengthening investment and business partnerships across key sectors of mutual interest, while also exploring opportunities to facilitate greater private sector engagement and cross-border investment initiatives between Ethiopia and Dubai-based enterprises.” No further detail was provided.
Ethiopia and United Arab Emirates have signed a range of agreements including financial one a currency swap agreement which is estimated to be over $800 million
