ADDIS ABABA (Reuters) – Ethiopia’s year-on-year inflation rose to 8.7 percent in May from 8.6 percent in April, driven by a surge in both food and non-food costs, the statistics office said on Wednesday.

Food inflation rose 12.3 percent year-on-year in May from 12.2 percent the previous month. Non-food inflation rose 4.7 percent from 4.6 percent in April.
