Of late, TPLF pages are teeming with stories about Eritreans trekking into Ethiopia. However, we have never seen the TPLF people showing interest in the high number of Ethiopians fleeing the country on a daily and weekly basis.
The only relatively safe bet for Ethiopians is Kenya, where there is a sense of closeness and also the police are more corrupt. Kenya has thus both the largest number of Ethiopian prisoners, refugees and asylum-seekers.
These young people mostly are seized by the police in Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia & Zimbabwe, while trekking through to Africa’s promised land – South Africa.
Last October a total of 244 Ethiopians appeared before magistrates in the above mentioned countries for illegally entering the respective nations’ territories.
The latest addition is 100-strong in Malawi prison, seized by police in Karonga, near the border town with Tanzania, according to StarAfrica.
It would take time, before an insensitive world wakes up to the reality of Ethiopia becoming an inferno to its children, thanks to the TPLF repression, the economic conditions and lack of solutions.
